Pike Conservation

These photos show a before and after of a pike that was conserved for national trust property. Other than the fact that it belongs to the particular house, it had no historical importance. By this I mean that there was no recorded history of it being caught, or who preserved it. On this basis it was decided to completely restore the fish. However every part of the restoration is completely reversible and all materials are contemporary with Victorian taxidermy.

Trout Conservation

All of the points above apply equally to this trout except it had been removed from its original case.
